From craft-inspired advanced technologies to lifestyle cultures

The Center for Innovation in Traditional Industries works with local and international institutions to establish a base for multifaceted research and investigation into traditional handcrafts. Utilizing the unique expertise of the five departments (Art, Design, Manga, Humanities, and Popular Culture) and the 23 courses at Kyoto Seika University, the center aims to gather knowledge and information across disciplines to envision the future of handcrafts and tradition. We engage in interdisciplinary research and examine topics ranging from craft-inspired advanced technologies to lifestyle cultures.
